Town of Grant – Annual Meeting
Tuesday, April 12, 2011
Grant Town Hall – 7:30 p.m.

The annual meeting of the Town of Grant was held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at the Grant Town Hall, Caroline, Wisconsin. Twenty-seven residents and board members were in attendance.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Richard Britzke and began with the Pledge of Allegiance.
The minutes of the 2010 annual meeting were read. A motion was made by Debbie Mielke and seconded by Duwayne Radies to approve the minutes as read. The motion was unanimously approved.
The annual report was presented for discussion. A motion was made by Dale Mielke and seconded by Jerry Malueg to accept the annual report. The motion was unanimously approved.

There was no old business.

New Business
¬Cheese factory property: Ken Huebner, representing the Grant Plan Commission, updated residents on several items. The new zoning code for Shawano County will be adopted by the county board on Tuesday, April 19, 2011. There will be an open house on April 25, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. at the Grant Town Hall for residents to review the zoning for their property. There will also be a question and answer session. Ken informed residents that Dale Klitz is the local liaison for the town board and plan commission and additional questions on zoning matters may be fielded through him. A resident asked for an update on the former cheese factory property. Ken stated that variances were approved by the county board. Mr. Skotzke, the owner of the property, plans to have the property surveyed and then construct the required privacy fence on the south side of the lot. Tentative plans are to construct a five unit condominium. The plan commission would like Mr. Skotzke to begin work by approximately May 1st and will monitor his progress on the project.

¬Shawano County Historical Society: The SCHS will feature photographs of sawmills from throughout the county at the Shawano County Fair this September. Residents who have photos of area sawmills can contribute to the display by contacting Gordon Kopitzke.

Caroline Conservation Club: Members of the Caroline Conservation Club constructed several Leopold benches and two handicap accessible picnic tables that will be placed in the town hall park.

Roads: A motion was made by Dale Mielke and seconded by Troy Malueg to allow the town board to make the decisions on the road work to be completed in 2011. The motion was approved unanimously.

Wages: A motion was made by Duwayne Radies and seconded by Janis Radies to leave part-time help wages at the rate of $10.00 per hour for 2011. The motion was unanimously approved.

Annual meeting date: A motion was made by Ken Huebner and seconded by Debbie Mielke to hold the annual meeting at the Grant Town Hall on the second Tuesday in April, 2012. The motion was unanimously approved.

Lunch: Residents were invited to stay for lunch and refreshments. Chairman Britzke thanked Premier Community Bank for their donation of $25.00 for the annual meeting lunch.

Adjourn: A motion was made by Debbie Mielke and seconded by Jerry Malueg to adjourn the meeting. The motion was unanimously approved.
