January 12, 2010 Plan Commission Meeting Minutes
January 12, 2010
The Town of Grant Planning Commission met at 3:00 pm at the Grant Town Hall. Members present were Ken Huebner, Dale Klitz, Gene Mehlberg and Sue Raether.
Chairman Huebner called the meeting to order. Larry Joos, Bill Bowers and Richard Britzke were welcomed as guests. We then reviewed the agenda. Two items were added to the agenda and it was approved as printed. MSC Dale/Gene
Public Comments: Larry had concerns about a variance, Conditional Use Permit and Zone Change that was being discussed at our meeting today. He raised several questions: How many units would there be? 6 Total How would the units be owned? Privately as family homes, as time shares, by seasonal occupants?
Old Business: Attendance was documented.
• The vacant Plan Commission seat has been filled by Armond Schmidt. He will complete Jim Radtke's term to 2011.
The next ZCAC meeting is January 28th at 7 pm They will prioritize directions for environment and energy standards and discuss questions and responses regarding zoning procedures and administration. Ken is planning to attend and those interested will contact him to ride to Shawano together.
The ice races will begin January 17th and continue Sundays depending upon the ice conditions.
New Business:
• Bill and Richard represented the Town Board in discussing the Cheese Factory Property. Questions and concerns raised by Larry were considered and we looked at several points in our Town of Grant Comprehensive Plan: Residential (Sewered) p.58#1, #5, p.59 map 4 etc. more questions were raised and it was determined that Bill will contact both Steve Skotzke and Robert Jacobson to see if they can met with us either on January 26th at 1:00 pm to answer the questions that came up in discussion.
Ken Called Tim Reed and he checked with the zoning administrator, Robert Jacobson and was advised that we don't have to change our Comprehensive Plan to satisfy the Skotzke request.
Ken brought an article showing how Kimberly was also developing a Comprehensive Plan.
Land referred to in a letter from Melinda Barlow, County Planner concerning property (APN018-14330-0010), 9.22 acres odd in shape, placed with in two separate categories one “Residential-Sewered” and the other “Agriculture and Resource Preservation Future Land Use”could be recommended to be rezoned if there were a survey showing accessibility to the land.
Our next meeting will be January 26th at 1:00pm with Steve Skotzke, Robert Jacobson, Richard Britzke and Bill Bowers. To further discuss item one in New business and have questions addressed.
