January 26, 2010 Plan Commission Meeting Minutes
January 26, 2010
The Town of Grant Plan Commission met at 1:00pm at the Grant Town Hall. Members present were Ken Huebner, Dale Klitz, Gene Mehlberg, Sue Raether and Armond Schmidt. Town Board members present were Richard Britzke and Bill Bowers. Zoning Administrator Bob Jacobson was present but Steve Skotzke did not attend. This special meeting was called to discuss the requests made by Steve Skotzke regarding a variance, conditional use permit and zone change to property on N3645 River Street. Public present at the meeting were Larry Joos and Bucky Radies.
The meeting determined that a letter will be sent to Steve Skotzke requesting his response and attendance at another meeting scheduled for February 9, 2010 at 1:00pm. Those present felt that before making a recommendation to the Town Board, more information is required. A copy of that letter is attached to the minutes.
Other questions asking Bob for advice included :
1. The Caroline Pond property. Using the tax description of property, The Town Board will consider requesting a mapping change due to a possible error which placed the subject property within two separate categories.
Bob explained the how land in the farmland preservation would be considered if sold in smaller parcels.
How a request for a “conditional use permit and variance for building” might be handled.
The meeting was called to order and agenda was approved MSC Klitz/Mehlberg.
Minutes from our January 12th meeting were approved as read MSC Schmidt/Klitz.
There were no comments from the public.
Old Business:
• The Plan Commission will report to the Town Board on Monday Feb. 1, 2010 at 7:30 at the Grant Town Hall.
Gene will represent the Town of Grant at the ZCAC meting January 28th
Dale will secure the necessary documents for the mapping request.
Sue and Ken will draft a letter to Steve Skotzke advising him of our next Special meeting and requesting his attendance.
New Business:
• A motion to approve the conditional use permit and variance for building and property to be zoned as General commercial as requested by Scott Peebles was made and seconded by Mehlberg/Schmidt. It carried.
Our next meeting will be February 9, 2010 at 1:00. If that date doesn't work We will try and meet on Feb. 8th, same time.
