Town of Grant Monthly Board Meeting
Grant Town Hall – 7:30 p.m.
July 11, 2011
The monthly meeting of the Grant Town Board was held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Grant Town Hall. Roll Call: Richard Britzke, Bill Bowers, Dale Klitz, Rick Grunewald and Kay Blum. Seven residents and one guest were in attendance.
Chairman Britzke read the agenda which was published in The Marion Advertiser on July 7, 2011. A motion was made by Klitz/Bowers to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Bowers/Britzke to approve the minutes of the June 6, 2011 town board meeting. Motion carried.
Public comment period: There was no public input.
Resolution 2011-01: Melinda Osterberg presented a brief overview of the zoning ordinance and took questions from the board and the public. A motion was made by Britzke/Bowers to approve Resolution 2011-01 Adopting the Comprehensive Revision to the Shawano County Zoning Ordinance and a Revised Zoning Map for the Town of Grant. Motion carried.
Resolution 2011-02: A motion was made by Klitz/Britzke to approve Resolution 2011-02 Adopting the County Board Supervisor Ward Map for the Town of Grant. Motion carried.
Plan Commission/zoning: Ken Huebner addressed the board regarding certain properties in the township. The next plan commission meeting will be held July 19, 2011 at 6 p.m. at the Grant Town Hall. There was a discussion about the continued dumping of items on the Grunewald property. Residents are reminded that large items can be recycled though our current waste hauler and will be handled in accordance with current laws regarding the disposal of those items. Roads: Crack filling has been completed as well as blacktopping on Weasel Dam Road. Chip sealing will begin in August. Bridge sealing was discussed.
Town hall: A motion was made by Bowers/Britzke to approve town hall reservations for Dave Krueger on July 23, 2011 and Leroy Beechy on July 30, 2011. Motion carried. A motion was made by Bowers/Britzke to accept the bid from Jeremy Kersten for landscaping at the town hall. Motion carried.
Baseball diamond: Painting was completed at the baseball diamond.
Dam: Documents have been forwarded to the DNR for review of the hazard rating.
Pay bills: A motion was made by Britzke/Bowers to approve the payment of checks 6927 through 6956 in the regular checking account and 1103 through 1105 in the environmental account. Motion carried.
Adjourn: A motion was made by Klitz/Bowers to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
